VEDIC
PRAYER Translation
by Dr. Sudhir Anand Om yayna dyuorugrä prithivi cha drdhä yayna svah stabhitam yayna näkah. Yo antarikshay rajaso vimänah kasmai deväyay havishä vidhayma. The mantra is a prayer to God who is addressed as the Sustainer and Principal Support of the whole universe. It is God who creates and maintains the universe and its components such as the stars, galaxies and space. His creations like the sun give us not only light to see but also heat to keep warm. The mantra also reminds us that God’s universe is in constant motion and undergoing continuous change. We too, then, must remain active and forever try to improve ourselves. Moreover, God is Supreme Bliss and by only knowing Him, one moves away from miseries or unhappiness in life and finds liberation and bliss in one’s own life. [Read More] |

REMEMBER JALIAWALA BAGH ON VAISAKHI By Kewal Ahluwalia The bloody and the most ghastly event of Jallianwala Bagh in Amritsar took place on the Vaisakhi day on April 13th 1919, when thousands of people from all over India, gathered in the Jallianwala Bagh near Golden Temple in Amritsar to celebrate a more than two hundred years old annual festival, for the new harvest and Sikh religious new year. Jallianwala Bagh, as such, is an immortal milestone in India’s struggle for freedom. It stands as a beacon of light of inspiration to all of us and which laid the foundation of freedom of India, with their blood and let us pay our humble homage to the people who embraced death so that the nation may live. SHRADHANJALI
Mrs. Shanti Devi Saberwal
(mother of Mrs. Jyoti Gandhi) took her last breath peacefully listening
Sandhya and Havan Mantras by her beloved grandson Vikram on March 9, 2009 at
the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Dr. Rajinder and Jyoti Gandhi in
Saddle River, New Jersey. She would have celebrated her 94th birthday on
March 30th. She was the role model of the generation of true Aryan. In her
daily routing she never missed Sandhya & Havan. Remembering Mummy her
picture comes in our mind with sweet and loving smiling and giving blessings
to every one. She was the attraction of the Arya Maha Sammelans in North
America, sitting at gate and greeting everyone. She was not only mother of
Jyoti Ji but of entire community.
