WHAT MAHARISHI SWAMI DAYANAND GAVE US

If "Hindus" all over the world really wish to have honor, respect and recognition in the world they must follow the path shown by Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati. "Hindus" have been exploited in the past and are still being exploited for political reasons.

Each and every person who is proud to call themselves "Hindus" should thank Maharshi Dayanand Saraswati and Arya Samaj every morning for bringing our honor back. Maharishi Dayanand gave us the "Vedas" again so we can be proud of our heritage. Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati told us that you can not attain GOD by idol worship but by Yoga and Pranayam as well as performing good Karmas. Arya Samaj has saved Hinduism, Arya Samaj has given our honor back to us so we can be proud of our heritage, please be grateful. Arya Samaj was the first organization to call for Swarajya for Hindus.

Confrontation might get some people elected to public offices in India but it will damage the reputation of the word "Hindu" not just in India but throughout the world. "Hindus" are known outside India as "idol worshippers" and that simply means ignorant and not understanding the GOD. Maharshi Dayanand Saraswati showed us the way but most Hindus did not follow his message of truth. During Swami Dayanand’s time in 1870’s most of the Hindu community was misled by our uneducated or semi-educated priests who gave us ignorance, illiteracy, cowardice and slavery in the end. Who told us that:

(a) No education for women. 
(b) Cruel and inhuman treatment for widows, no remarriage and "sati pratha."
(c) Women not allowed to study Vedas, not even Gayatri Mantra (if they heard they were forced into deafness).
(d) When Muslims attacked on India, the army was told not to fight because "GOD" will protect us.
(e) The wrong meaning of the word "Ahimsa."
(f) If you went overseas you will be kicked out of "Hindu" dharma.
(g) Create the low class of "untouchables."
(h) If a Muslim touches you or spits in your water then you will be forced to be a Muslim.
(i)  Once you become a Muslim or Christian, you can never become a Hindu again.
(j) The great King and Maryada Purushottam Ram is GOD, Yogiraj Shri Krishna is "God" and there are millions of Gods that Hindus must worship including Snakes, "shiv-ling" etc.
 (k) Caste system is by birth. That a Brahman’s son will always be a Brahman even if he is Shudra by Karma. It is like a doctor's son is a doctor without going to Medical College.
And I can go on and on. Fortunately some of these ignorances because of Maharshi Swami Dayanand Ji’s message and his followers in Arya Samaj do not exist now but others still persist. 

 If people despise the current Arya Samaj organization they can still follow Maharishi's work and guidance. Please read Satyarth Prakash and more important than that, read Maharishi's translations of the Vedas. You will be amazed and very proud that Vedas are our books of knowledge containing scientific explanations about the laws of nature, qualities of God (only one GOD named AUM) and the purpose and goals of life.

Let us not forget that the Vedic philosophy is based on substance. Science, logic and reasoning are all on our side. We don't need to be aggressive and violent because that is going to damage our cause.

We also must take care and love our own people. We must approach all untouchables, Dalits, Adivasis and all neglected groups and even if we offer them our 10 % acceptance, they will not be misguided by other religions. We must spread the message of the Vedas and make them feel that they are our brothers and sisters.
