(Rig Veda 8: 61: 11) |
| We cannot become true devotees of God without correct knowledge of God, soul and how we should live virtuously. Similarly, we cannot become true devotees of God if we perform wrong or sinful deeds in thought, words or actions that are against the teachings of the Vedas and our rishis. To become true devotees of God we have to knowingly and consciously make God our constant Companion and Friend. We can do this only if we start incorporating some of God's attributes in our lives to the extent possible, such as following truth, becoming generous, being kind and just when dealing with others in our thoughts, words and our deeds. 10-10-10 Yog By Madhu Bansal |
Are
you one of those who are just never able to create time to get to the
gym, or manage a daily thirty-minute power walk? Do you lament the fact
that there isn’t a treadmill in your home? Studies show that seventy
minutes a week (ten minutes a day) of added exercise can lessen the
dangers of blood, heart and arterial diseases. Having a busy schedule
does not imply neglect of the most beautiful and potent instrument we
own – our bodies. [Read More] |

Maha Sammelan - What My Mind Registered By Vimal Velani |
| Arya Prathinidhi Sabha Amercia held the 23rd Arya Maha Sammelan in Markham, Ontario, Canada on 1st August, 2013. The theme for this year was “Role of Arya Samaj in the Modern World.” Several local and international Vidthvans, dignitaries, samaj representatives and youths spoke related to the theme. I was given the task to summarize the sessions. Before I begin, I just wanted to clarify one thing. The speakers had 20 minutes (just long enough for a summary) to talk on preselected topic and they also published their speech in the wonderful souvenir book, which was published on this occasion. So how can you summarize something that the speaker himself had already summarized? I hope you don’t read this article as a summary. [Read More] |

SATYARTH PRAKASH - THE LIGHT OF TRUTH
Summary of Satyarth Prakash Telephone Sermons of May 2013 By Acharya Vedshrami, Resident Priest, Greater Atlanta Vedic Temple English Translation by Raj Bhalla, Ph.D. (President, Arya Samaj of Suburban New York) |
| These popes (false Braahmans) who had read a little about performing ritual ceremonies, declared before the kings and rulers, it was unlawful to punish a Braahman and Sadhu. “Let no Braahman or Sadhu be killed”. They also wrote books containing false statements and passed them as if written by Vedic seers. Thus they succeeded in getting out of the reach of the law and did whatever they liked. This evil took root 1000 years before the great war of Mahabhartaa. Although Vedic seers existed at that time, the seeds of laziness, mutual jealousy, hatred had sprouted a little and became full grown trees later on. When the true preaching stopped, then ignorance spread and the people starting fighting with each other. [Read More] |

| Many of us indulge in fault finding out of sheer habit. Most of them are conceived in their own mind. There’s enough happening in the world around us that’s not quite right, so blaming others comes easily. But finding fault with people or situations around us does not help. It only fills them with negativity and takes away their peace of mind. When they notice someone’s fault, it shows that their own mind is not good enough otherwise the faults of others would have gone unnoticed without paying any attention to it. If your mind is always focuses on finding faults of others, you can be sure that it will produce negative thoughts. You do not have the right to find fault because your assessment of a person is limited to your experience with him. There are so many aspects of the personality of that person you do not know. Importance of Reading Swami Dayanand Saraswati Authored Vedic Books By Pt. Vedbrat Etwaru |
| The importance of reading Maharishi Swami Dayanand Vedic books can be summarized by the following statement taken from the introduction to the second edition of the Satyaarth Prakaash: “My chief aim in writing this book is to unfold Truth. I have expounded Truth as truth and ignorance as ignorance. The exposition of ignorance in the place of Truth, and Truth in the place of ignorance does not constitute Truth”. This statement is true for all his writings. The most important books written by Swami’ ji are: 1. Translation of the Yajur Veda. 2. Translation of Rigveda up to Chapter VII- 61.2, he could not complete it because of his untimely death. 3. Rigveda Bhasya Bhumika. 4. Sandhya and Havana. 5. Satyaarth Prakaash. 6. Sanskaar Vidhi. 7.
