Question: We read in ancient Sanskrit literature the mention of firearms (अग्नि अस्त् ). Is it true or false? In old times, did these firearms like cannon, guns etc. existed or not?

Answer: Yes it is true. They existed. These weapons can be manufactured by the application of physical sciences.

Question: Were all these things produced by reciting mantra of the deities. (We see in the movies that a mantra is recited by a person and a weapon appears by magical power into his hand).

Answer: All these weapons were invented by mantra which means deep thought of the scientific principles. A mantra literally means thought. Hence Raja Mantri means (Raja = Kingdom, Mantri = One who thinks), is one who thinks over the affairs of the kingdom and is the King's advisor. By merely pronouncing a mantra, which is a collection of words, cannot produce any substance, leave alone a weapon. If  by merely reciting a mantra one could produce fire, then why it should not burn the throat and tongue of the person reciting the mantra.

First by deep thinking one acquires scientific knowledge and then by experimentation of that knowledge one can invent all sorts of machines. For example, if an iron arrow or ball be filled with such a substance, that by applying fire to it produces smoke, and by coming into contact with sun's rays or air causes fire to burst in flames, then you have invented an Agnayastra (fire weapon).

One can protect his army from this weapon by devising a Varunaastra. This could be filled with such substance which when coming into contact with smoke will burst into a cloud and cause rain, thus extinguishing the fire. Then there is the Mohanastra which could contain a narcotic substance by inhaling which the enemy could faint.

The words TOP (तोप, cannon) and Banduka (बन्दुक, musket) are foreign names and not derived from Sanskrit. What is now called TOP was called in Sanskrit Shatagahni (शतघ्नी) which means a hundred killers. What is now called Banduka was called in Sanskrit Bhushundi (भुशुण्डी).

All the knowledge that has spread into the world, originated from Aryavrat (India). From there it spread to Egypt, then to Greece, then to Rome and Europe and then to America. Even today India leads all other countries in matter of Sanskrit learning. Those people who say that Sanskrit language is widely studied in Germany and no one knows more Sanskrit then Professor Max Muller, is a matter of hearsay only. As an example, in a country where no tree grows, there they will regard a castor tree as a big one. Whatever Max Muller wrote on Vedas is after he read the commentaries written by people of this country and he did not interpret it correctly.

For example, he translates the word Bradhnam as horse in the Vedic Verse (Rigveda 1.6.1), "Yujanti bradhnam arusham charanti". Even Sayanacharya's translation as “Sun” is little better but its real meaning is “God” which you can see in my manuscript Rigvedabhashya Bhoomicaa. This will be sufficient to show how much Sanskrit knowledge Prof. Max Muller and other Germans possess.

It is a fact that all religions found in the world have originated from India. Mr. Jacoliot, a native of France writes in his book, "The Bible in India", that India is the source of all kinds of knowledge and all knowledge and religions have spread from India. In the book he prays, "O God may my country progresses to the same level as was in ancient India".

Prince Dara Shikoh came to the same conclusion. He had read Arabic and other languages but his doubts were never removed nor he was happy. But after reading and hearing Sanskrit his doubts were removed and he became extremely happy.

But the great war of Mahabharata gave such a jolt to India that even up to now it has not been able to recover. In that war cousin brothers fought with each other. When brother kills brother, destruction of a nation is sure to happen. A poet has said,  िनाशकाले  विपरीतबुद्धि,  meaning when the time of destruction comes,  people will think of right advice as wrong one and vice versa. When men of learning got killed in that war, Vedic knowledge and religion became extinct. People developed mutual jealousy, hatred, enmity and false pride. Anyone who became strong took possession of the country.

Thus whole of India was split into small pieces. In such condition who will look after the foreign principalities. Each city had its own king, like, Maharaja Of Bikaner, Maharaja of Udaipur, Maharaja of Patiala etc. Who will defend against a foreign invasion? Thus India was taken over by the Mughals first and then the British. Thus the war of Mahabharta (5000 years ago) led to the down fall of Aryavrat (India).
